Dr. Renee Rumrill
Veterinarian
Dr. Renee Rumrill graduated from Colorado State University’s prestigious College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 1996. She began her career in mixed animal practice, treating many different types of animals from dairy cows to rabbits. She narrowed her focus to companion animal medicine when she found that she was most happy treating animals that are valued as family members. In 2011, she moved from Eagle, Colorado, to assume ownership of Alta Vista Animal Hospital. She practices medicine with the philosophy that every animal matters and with the understanding that there is no other bond like the one that we share with our pets. Dr. Rumrill’s furry family includes dogs Buddy and Luka; cats Karma and Violet, and Morgan horse, Sunny. In her spare time, she and Sunny explore the amazing beauty of Western Colorado.

I recently graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a degree in Recreation, Parks, and Leisure Services with an emphasis in Natural and Cultural Resources, eventually wanting to pursue my Veterinary Technician certification. I’ve been working in the animal care field since I was 16, and hope to one day work in wildlife rehabilitation and education. I have 4 pets living with my boyfriend Jameson and I, Bear Jordan (pictured, 4 years), Cowgirl Murphy (cat, 12 weeks), Klaus (crested gecko, 5 years), and Oda (green tree frog, 3 years). I like to spend my free time hiking, camping, fishing, and reading!

Brittney is our strange Kansas girl that hates corn. She used to be pretty normal until a tornado picked her up that one day and crossed all but one of her wires. She spent one month wandering OZ and only returned once she learned to soar with the flying monkeys. She has 39 kids, a Kev and considers herself cauldron blessed—-in all seriousness, Brittney is an amazing mother, friend, and technician. She provides great care to all our patients and their pet parents. She enjoys softball, reading, and paddleboarding!

Danielle, RVT, Hospital Manager
Danielle's bio
Danielle is our hospital manager. She was raised in Grand Junction, moved to Montrose in 2014 and joined the Alta Vista team in 2017. Prior to being an RVT she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. She always has several animals in her home whether her own or foster pets, and loves reptiles. Danielle enjoys lake days, training jiu jitsu, and being an Auntie.

Diane, Client Service Representative
Diane's bio
Diane grew up in Arvada, CO before moving to Montrose in 2020. She is our client services superstar and can be found at the front desk answering phones, helping clients, and greeting patients with a smile. Diane lives with her husband and they share four grown children and two grandsons. They have one very spoiled cat named Ali, and an equally rotten pup named Piper. When she is not at Alta Vista Diane enjoys off-roading and is a huge NASCAR fan.

Amanda's bio
Amanda CSR was born in Phoenix, Arizona but became a resident on Montrose at an early age. Amanda has dedicated most of her adult life to excelling in the dynamic field of customer service through experience in restaurant and retail fields. Outside her professional life, she is a dedicated wife and mother of two daughters and two stepchildren. Her household is enlivened by her various pets. She enjoys camping, attending concerts, and hosting/attending get-togethers with friends and family.

Mariah CSR was born in South Florida but grew up in Colorado. She has always had a burning passion to care for animals and knew she wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She began as a technician at a small animal ER clinic and then had the opportunity to work in large animal medicine. She has several horses, dogs and cats. Mariah enjoys spending time trail riding with her horses in the mountains and camping.

Val CSR is one of the friendliest faces you’ll encounter with our front desk team. She has lived in some of the most beautiful places in these amazing United States including Jackson Hole Wyoming, Whitefish Montana and of course here near the lovely San Juans. She has a perfect hound dog, Goose, and an even sweeter kitty, Fiona. She crochets almost everything and enjoys cooking and baking.
